Professional supervision for principals: Analysis of current issues and options

by David Eddy, Carol Cardno, and Constance Chai

Overview

This report is an analysis of professional supervision for New Zealand primary and secondary principals. The researchers:

  • undertook a literature review and document search
  • gathered data through an electronic survey and focus group interviews with principals
  • gathered data through interviews with the representatives of the Ministry of Education, the PPTA and NZEI.

Where possible, they analysed and reported the findings for primary and secondary principals separately.
