06 August 2009
Principals' sabbatical reports added to Educational Leaders in August look at:
- establishing an effective model of leadership development within a school setting through a combination of reviewing current school practice, literature research, and school visits (Peter Gall, Papatoetoe High School)
- international trends in technology that will assist technological practices and improve the teaching and assessment of technology (Sheryl Haines, Hukerenui School)
- how some Australian schools are using Glasser Choice Theory and Reality Therapy and other cognitive behaviour models to manage student behaviour, develop students as independent learners, and create a positive school (Judith Grose, Wilford School)
- the effects/benefits that the pursuit of culturally significant events can have on Māori student achievement, with particular reference to those families/students that engage regularly in hui, muttonbirding, and carving (Bruce Pagan, Kaikoura Primary School).
