Overview
In this short article from ldr magazine, Angela Spencer describes a unique mentoring partnership for school leaders. The programme, Partners in Leadership, pairs school principals with senior business leaders. Launched in 1998 and funded by the National College for School Leadership in the United Kingdom, its purpose is to give experienced principals an opportunity to view leadership through a different lens.
Pairs meet a number of times over the course of a year to work together on issues related to personal development, leadership, and management.
A case study in the article sets out a successful and mutually beneficial partnership between a primary school principal and the chief executive of a print company.
